Indicated

Graveyard

What is recorded here

Indicated is a rectangular graveyard in County Louth, Ireland, holding church remains in its northeast corner and possibly the small bodies of children who died before the place had a name. Gogarty wrote that much in 1907, leaving the rest to imagination: tiny shoes on wet stone, a mother’s hand brushing hair from a forehead, laughter cut short in a kitchen nearby. The grass still covers what love could not keep.
Rectangular shaped graveyard (map dims. c. 30m E-W; c. 26m N-S) with church remains (LH022-014001-) in NE corner. Gogarty (1907, 35) noted that it was once used as a childrens burial ground (LH022-014004-). Compiled by: Claire Breen Date of upload: 9 August 2012
