Enclosure in Mallaroe, County Mayo

What is recorded here

In pasture, in lowlying, flat terrain stretching at NE to an expanse of wettish reclaimed land. Ground level rises gradually for c. 125m to SSW towards a low elevation on which another enclosure (MA119-042----) is located. A circular embanked enclosure (diam. c. 35m) is shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map; it is not shown on later map editions. There is no visible trace at ground level.

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed. The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
