What is recorded here
Indicated, Liskilleen preserves a ruined castle inside a rectangular bawn measuring forty-three by sixty-four metres. The stones still mark a closed domestic world where people lived, worked and perhaps fled. That much shape remains clear after everything else has thinned into grass and rain.
An Archaeological Survey of Ballinrobe and District (Lavelle 1994; p. 102, no. 697) records that the ruins of a castle (MA110-055001-) are enclosed by 'remains of rectangular enclosure (43m N–S; 64m E–W).'
