What is recorded here

Indicated is a circular earthen fort atop a Cork hill, its broken bank and hidden passage waiting for someone bold enough to enter. The fairies may have built it, or humans may have forgotten it. Both possibilities give the stones life.

In pasture, atop hill. Roughly circular area (36.5m N-S; 33m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 1.65m); external fosse (D 1.6m) S->SW; shallow,waterlogged, external fosse to N. Break in bank to NNW (Wth 2m). Possible Man-made underground passage (CO105-052---) in interior. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
