What is recorded here

Indicated is a buried fairy fort in County Cork, not a human home, though its shallow circle and broken bank still mark the ground where Lisduggan watches from two hundred metres north. The land has kept its shape through pasture, potato rows and forgotten traffic, suggesting the fort is not dead but waiting for recognition. What is absent is not emptiness; it is the part of the world that stops pretending to understand itself.

In pasture, on level ground, atop low rise. Circular area (35m E-W; 34m N-S) enclosed by heavily overgrown earthen bank (int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1m); shallow external fosse (D 0.2m). Break in bank to S (Wth 5m) with entrance gate to interior; second break to NW, overgrown. Fosse used as laneway at E side. Interior planted with potatoes. Overlooked by Lisduggan ringfort (CO023-163---), which lies c. 200m to N. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
