Indicated is a fairy fort in County Cavan, Ireland, where a thirty-nine-metre circular mound still wears a substantial earthen bank and external fosse along its east, southeast and south edges. The missing northern boundary and hidden entrance suggest the fort is incomplete rather than dead, as if human hands built only part of a shape already known to the land. People may have lived inside the visible ring, feared the invisible completion or simply avoided the gap where the bank disappears.

Marked 'Fort' on OS 1836 and 1876 eds. Raised circular area (int. diam. c. 39m) enclosed from E-SE-S by a substantial earthen bank with external fosse. The enclosing elements are well preserved from E-SE-S. Elsewhere poorly preserved or absent. Original entrance not identifiable. Lisagoan is a likely early-medieval ringfort, indicated by its circular enclosure with a substantial earthen bank and external fosse on the eastern, southeastern, and southern sides. Though partially degraded, its form suggests a defensive or domestic site, and like many such forts, it may have later been associated with local folklore concerning fairies or other supernatural beings.
