What is recorded here

Indicated is a D-shaped ecclesiastical enclosure in County Cork where a stream forms the straight western edge and an overgrown earthen bank curves around the rest. A road now cuts through the pasture, yet Kilcullin Fort, a burial ground, an underground passage and a standing stone still occupy the eastern half. The broken bank and low stone opening suggest people once entered this place deliberately, perhaps to pray, bury or hide beneath the slope.

In pasture, on SW-facing slope, on NE side of stream. D-shaped area (straight side c. 90m NW-SE; projecting c. 90m to NE) defined by stream on straight SW side and by earthen bank elsewhere. Bank heavily overgrown with bushes, stone faced in parts; break in bank to ESE; small low stone-lined opening at base of bank to E. Enclosure cut by road on NW-SE axis c. 30m to NE of stream. Ringfort (12716) named 'Kilcullin Fort', burial ground (14141), Man-made underground passage (13296) and standing stone (10086) within NE half of enclosure.
