What is recorded here

Indicated is an earthwork in Lackan (roscommon By., Aughrim East Ed), County Roscommon, Ireland. It appears as a circular feature roughly 35 metres across on the 1837 map and as a small rectangular enclosure attached to the south-west of a rath on the 1914 map. The site stands at the crest of a south-facing slope, remains hidden within pasture, and lies about 130 metres north-east of another rath.
Marked on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map as a circular feature (diam. c. 35m) and on the 1914 ed. as a small rectangular enclosure (dims c. 20m NW-SE; c. 20m NE-SW) attached to the SW of rath (RO017-025002-). Situated at the crest of a S-facing slope. It is not visible at ground level in pasture. Rath (RO017-024----) is c. 130m to the SW. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
