Built in depression against natural slope. Random-rubble sandstone walls encase earthen core. Front elevation (H c. 4m; Wth 6.31m) faces N; corbelled recess topped with lintel (H 2.34m; Wth 2.27m; D 2.15m), sloping slabs at rear with stoking hole, rectangular ope (Wth 0.62m) at base. Side walls partially collapsed. Funnel infilled. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000).
