Built against natural W-facing slope, on E side of Carrig River valley. Random-rubble limestone walls encase core. Front wall (H 3.5m; Wth 6.5m) faces S; lintelled corbelled recess (H c. 1.54m; Wth 2.3m), rear of recess collapsed and choked with core material. Shallow depression on top of kiln indicates position of funnel. Ramp to N. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
