What is recorded here

On flat low-lying ground on the flood-plain of the River Shannon. Depicted as a small island (diam. c. 15m) in a small lake (diam. c. 200m) on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. The lake has been reclaimed and the field is now known locally as the island, but there is no evidence of or local knowledge of a crannog. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
