Situated on a broad N-S ridge. It is depicted as a subcircular wooded feature on the 1834 and 1907 editions of the OS 6-inch map. This is a raised grass-covered area (diam. c. 18m; H c. 1.5-2m) with slight traces of an external fosse or drain and an outer field bank and hedge (diam. 36.3m NW-SE), which is reduced to a scarp and hedge NE-SE and absent W-N. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986).
