What is recorded here
In pasture, located on a slight rise in gently undulating landscape, with good but not extensive views.
A circular embanked enclosure (diam. 15-20m), bordered on the N edge by an E−W field boundary, is shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map; a hachured sunken feature is shown on the 1931 edition.
It has been levelled, but the outline is visible as a cropmark. An intermittent band (Wth c. 2m) of yellow grass, possibly a levelled bank, defines a level D-shaped area (14m E–W; 15m N–S to lane), truncated on the straight side at N by a laneway. A circular area (diam. c. 5m) of yellow grass is visible roughly in the centre of the enclosed space, with a gap of c. 3–4m intervening between it and the enclosing band of yellow grass. These cropmarks may preserve the outline of a levelled ringbarrow.
