Indicated is an oval fairy fort in County Cork where two stone hut circles still face north despite the sloping ground. People may have lived there before becoming legend, shaping the bank and placing upright slabs to keep out rain or restless thought. The western hut hides a possible underground passage, suggesting the site still gives up secrets one breath at a time.

In pasture, on N-facing slope. Oval area (33m E-W; 24.5m N-S) enclosed by earthen, stone-faced, bank (int. H 1m; ext. H 1.9m). Large boulders and stones dumped on bank from field clearance. To W, bank pushed inwards and dumped material added. Break (Wth 2m) in bank to S; cattle gap (Wth 1.5m) to E. Interior slopes down to N, raised on N side to compensate for hillslope; S of centre are two hut sites. Most westerly hut site is roughly circular in plan (4.8m x 4.4m) defined by contiguous line of upright stones (max. H 0.65m) backed on upslope side of hut circle (S) by earthen bank (H 0.4m); entrance (Wth 0.9m) to NNE. Immediately to E is second hut site, roughly circular in plan (4m x 3.5m), defined by contiguous line of upright stones, some of which are large slabs lying on end.
