On the N side of a rath (KE057-015----). Described in the 1840s as a 'well' close to a 'fort' in Farranmanagh townland (OSNB, Kilcolman, no. 2, 7). A natural spring, defined by a narrow shallow E-W channel, which flows into the adjacent field to the W.
