What is recorded here

Indicated is a circular crannog in White Lough, County Cavan, built from a log platform and stone kerb. It floats eighty metres from the shore, large enough for a small household but remote enough to feel forgotten. The water hides any causeway, leaving the platform suspended between land and loss.

In White Lough, c. 80m from the shoreline. Recorded by Davies (1942, 19; ITA Survey 1946). Circular crannóg (diam. c. 25m) consisting of a log platform with stone kerb around the edge. A small arc of juxtaposed logs are exposed on one side. Tradition of stone causeway but depth of lake makes this unlikely.
