Explorer Tom An enclosure in Lisheennacreagh from 1842 that is currently stuck behind a forest. It was a univallate thing back then, but now you just have to trust the map and hope the trees part for you.

Derrylahard EastMountain / peak · 760 yd

Explorer Tom Derrylahard East has caught my eye in County Cork. I bet a mountain / peak with a name like that could keep me talking all afternoon; I'm already inventing a daft little scene for it, and I'll stop before it turns into history.

Standing stone in GlansallaghStanding stone · 1648 ydComputer-made picture

Explorer Tom Standing stone in Glansallagh is officially 'not visible,' which means it’s playing hard to get behind some gorse. A goat once ruled this place with an iron hoof. Hang around long enough and you'll hear a story from a local.

Coolnalong Castle (in Ruins)House, fortified house · 3.2 mi

Explorer Tom Coolnalong Castle is a U-shaped house that looks like it's trying to hug itself. It overlooks Dunmanus Bay and has some fancy oversailing chimney caps. It’s been used as a farm building, so maybe smell the cows before you explore.

Rossmore Castle (in Ruins)Castle, tower house · 3.4 mi

Explorer Tom Rossmore Castle is ivy-clad and dramatic on Dunmanus Bay, looking like it was dressed for a photo shoot. It was nearly sold for a horse, which is a great deal actually. Pick a stone, any stone, and invent its entire biography on the spot.
