What is recorded here

Internal diam. 25.3m N-S This poorly preserved rath is located in gently sloping pasture S of Knocknadobar mountain and affords a clear view over the Ferta river estuary to SW. The circular interior, which is level and featureless, is defined by a barely perceptible bank which rises to a maximum height of .5m at S. A narrow trackway overlies the E sector of the site. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 499. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 28 July 2013
