Located in Coaghen Lough which is depicted as a sub-triangular lough (dims c. 200m N-S; c. 200m E-W) on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map, but the lake is now reduced to an L-shaped feature with the crannog in a circular N section (diam. c. 100m). This is an overgrown clay island (dims 17m E-W; 15m N-S; H 0.4m over the water) with deep water within 5m of its edge. Erosion of the surface reveals a matrix of small stones and clay with charcoal and animals bones. Four small piles and a horizontal plank were also observed.
