What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Cloonybeirne (roscommon By.), County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a gentle SE-facing slope as a circular grass-covered area measuring 24.8m east-west and 23.6m north-south. A scarp rising from 0.6m at the south to 1.25m at the north defines the boundary, while a rounded fosse runs along the southwest and northwest. No original entrance remains identifiable, though another earthwork sits approximately 100m to the southwest.
On a gentle SE-facing slope. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 24.8m E-W; 23.6m N-S) defined by a scarp with some bushes (H 0.6m at S to 1.25m at N), with a rounded fosse (Wth of top 7.6m; Wth of base 4m; ext. D 1-1.15m) SW-NW. There is no identifiable original entrance. Earthwork (RO028-163----) is c. 100m to the SW. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
