Explorer Tom This rectangular area in Coolasmuttane is defined by a scarp and a ditch, with reeds growing near the east side. A septic tank outside might be confusing your GPS a bit!
Explorer Tom Graveyard in Shandrum has a ruined church that disappeared by 1694. It’s got vaults and chest tombs from the late 18th century, so bring your flashlight and maybe some incense if you’re feeling fancy.
Gortskagh HouseOutbuilding · 1.0 miExplorer Tom Gortskagh House outbuilding is looking suspiciously elegant for what it does. It has a chamfered corner so carts can turn easily, which is a clever touch for an 1850s structure. Take a picture of that sharp angle for me!
Colmanswell Catholic ChurchPresbytery/parochial/curate's house · 1.2 miExplorer Tom Colmanswell Catholic Church has caught my eye in Foxhall West, County Limerick. I bet a presbytery/parochial/curate's house with a name like that could keep me talking all afternoon; I'm already inventing a daft little scene for it, and I'll stop before it turns into history.
Children's playground2.3 miComputer-made picture. It does not show this playground.Explorer Tom Children's playground has caught my eye in County Cork. I bet a children's playground with a name like that could keep me talking all afternoon; I'm already inventing a daft little scene for it, and I'll stop before it turns into history.
Explorer Tom Holy Cross Cemetery has caught my eye in Rathgoggan South, County Cork. I bet a graveyard with a name like that could keep me talking all afternoon; I'm already inventing a daft little scene for it, and I'll stop before it turns into history.
Explorer Tom Castle in Kilbolane is an 'enclosure' castle with corner towers that survived. The rest was demolished to build Kilbolane House around 1696. So this is basically a garden wall with attitude. The moat parts are still there, so look for water or mud.
National Co-op MuseumMuseum · 7.3 miExplorer Tom National Co-op Museum has caught my eye in County Limerick. I bet a museum with a name like that could keep me talking all afternoon; I'm already inventing a daft little scene for it, and I'll stop before it turns into history.
Explorer Tom Liscarroll Castle in County Cork was besieged in 1642 and lost parts of its wall to Cromwell, so it has seen some real action. It probably hates the memory of cannonballs but still stands proud. Check the gatehouse.
Explorer Tom Battle of Liscarroll has caught my eye in County Cork. I bet a major battlefield with a name like that could keep me talking all afternoon; I'm already inventing a daft little scene for it, and I'll stop before it turns into history.
KnockfeerinaMountain / peak · 8.2 miExplorer Tom Knockfeerina has caught my eye in County Limerick. I bet a mountain / peak with a name like that could keep me talking all afternoon; I'm already inventing a daft little scene for it, and I'll stop before it turns into history.
