What is recorded here

Indicated was a circular rath in County Mayo, visible on the 1838 map but erased before 1929. A commercial quarry now occupies the site where the earthen ring once stood. The loss is complete, yet the shape remains memorable because it resisted forgetting long enough to be named.

A circular ringfort-sized enclosure (diam. 25-30m) is shown on the 1838 OS 6-inch map, and on the 25-inch plan; it is not shown on the 1929 OS 6-inch edition.
