What is recorded here
Indicated is a circular enclosure in County Kilkenny, Ireland, marked by a wide fosse and hidden inside deciduous woodland near Castle Blunden. It has stood beside the 17th-century house long enough to become familiar, yet its purpose still withdraws like a room with no door. The trees fill its interior and perimeter, turning measurement into memory and suggesting that people once shaped the land before forgetting what they shaped.
In deciduous woodland with Castle Blunden demesne, the 17th-century house (KK019-032001-) of the demesne lies c. 350m to the SE. A roughly circular enclosure (diam. c. 40m N-S; c. 43m E-W) enclosed by a wide fosse (Wth c. 5m) as indicated on the 1945-6 revision OS 6-inch map. The interior and perimeter of the enclosure are planted with trees.
