Indicated is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Carrowneden (tireragh By.), County Sligo, Ireland. It occupies the southwest foot of a northwest-southeast ridge in pasture. Three earthen banks and two external fosses surround a raised circular area twenty-two metres across. A two-metre break at the east-northeast marks the original entrance, where a causeway crosses the fosses.
Situated at the SW foot of a NW-SE ridge in pasture. Raised circular area (diam. 22m) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 4.4m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 1.8m at S, 2.3m at N) with an external fosse (Wth 6m). At the outer edge of the fosse is a second bank (Wth 6m; int. H 1.4m; ext. H 2.2m) also with an external fosse (Wth 4m). At the outer edge of the second fosse is a third bank (Wth 5.8m; int. H 2m; ext. H 1.6m). The original entrance at ENE is marked by a break (Wth 2m) in the banks and a causeway across the fosses.
