In pasture, located on a low rise in an area of rolling grassland bordered 200m to N by the Deel River. Immediately to SE is a large swallow hole (c. 50m N–S; c. 20m E–W), several meters deep, engulfed in overgrowth, which is named ‘Polldotia’ on the 1922 OS 6-inch map. Nephin Mountain is prominently visible to SSW and the Nepin Beg Range extends along the skyline to W. Circular mound or cairn (diam. 11.5-12m; H 1.85m at N) of earth and stone. It is largely sod-covered and densely obscured by gorse and brambles. A field wall, which lies immediately to W, and a modern road immediately to N, both appear to respect the curve of the mound. A post and wire field fence, on an E–W axis, stands at the S edge of the mound. There is a possible barrow (MA038-050----) c. 35m to S, and a cluster of ringbarrows and possible barrows and cairns (MA038-051----; MA038-052----; MA038-053001- to MA038-053003-) are located in adjacent fields within a range of c. 100-250m to NE, SE and S. Portal dolmen; dates to the Neolithic period (c. 4000–2500 BCE). Its location near a swallow hole may indicate a symbolic or ritual association with water features, common in prehistoric funerary landscapes of the region.
