What is recorded here

Indicated is a ruined stone ringfort on a low Galway hill, reduced to a grassed curve and field walls that cut through its middle. It may have been a home, a boundary marker, or a forgotten fortress, but the land has smoothed its edges until only suggestion remains. What is left is enough to imagine: a circle of stones, a life lived inside it, and time doing what time does.

On the summit of a low hill. Classified by McCaffrey (1952, 254-5, no. 14) as a circular ‘Stone fort’ (diam. c. 33m), which was bisected from N to S by a field wall. Within the W half of the interior was a house site (GA105-054003-). Apart from a grassed-over stony bank curving from ENE to SSE, no visible surface trace of the enclosing element survives. Another field wall, running WNW-ESE, cuts the monument at ENE. There is a field system (GA105-054002-) immediately to the E.
