What is recorded here
Located on a rise in an undulating landscape with slightly higher ground to the ENE. This is a subcircular to subrectangular grass-covered area (dims 29m E-W; 24.5m N-S) with rounded corners that slopes down to the E (H 1m). It is defined by an earthen bank (Wth of base 7m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 0.9m) SW-W and a scarp (at E: Wth 2m; H 1.5m) elsewhere with some trees on the perimeter. There are gaps in the perimeter at N (Wth of base 4) and SW (Wth 3m), but the original entrance is not identified. Earthwork (ME014-013----) is c. 50m to the ENE.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
