Moanleanna HouseHouse · 875 yd

Explorer Tom Moanleanna House in Moanleanna suspects the postman is a spy for the Crown. Con Colbert was born here, so the walls are thick with history and suspicion. Go now, before it gets famous for being weird.

Enclosure in BallygeelEnclosure · 883 yd

Explorer Tom This Ballygeel enclosure smells strongly of old hay and mild confusion, according to my very reliable nose. It’s rectangular because circles were too fancy for its taste, I suspect. It's free, it's odd, what more do you want?

Ballymackesy CottageFarm house · 1.1 mi

Explorer Tom Ballymackesy Cottage is still trying to figure out how it got such a fancy porch for a simple farmhouse. It’s got those unusual window arrangements that make it look like it’s winking at you from across the field. Give it a cheerful wave; it probably just finished polishing its limestone sills and wants some recognition.

Castle MahonCastle · 1.6 mi

Explorer Tom Castle Mahon inspired a bad poem by someone who clearly didn't know how to rhyme with 'stone'. The verse was so awful that the castle probably tried to hide in the garden to escape it. Find a local, ask them the real story, and come back to tell me what they actually said.

Templars Castle (in ruins)Castle, Anglo-Norman masonry castle · 2.0 mi

Explorer Tom Templars Castle has a ghost that is too lazy to haunt anyone properly. He mostly just naps in the tower and complains about the draughts when he wakes up. He is not even scary, just really unhygienic. Find the wonkiest bit and send it to your group chat.

Saint Ite's WellSpring · 3.1 mi

Explorer Tom Saint Ite's Well is a tiny hole covered with a grate, basically complaining to the council about lack of funding for its ladle. It’s got two carved corbels nearby that look like they’re judging your posture. Have a sandwich here and call it a heritage lunch.

Ballagh MountainMountain / peak · 4.3 mi

Explorer Tom Ballagh Mountain in County Limerick has a lighthouse on top that looks like it’s trying to signal for help from a passing spaceship. The guy who built it probably thought he was being fancy, but honestly, it just looks a bit lost up there on its own little hill. It gives off major 'I am not where I should be' energy, which is quite the character for a rock. A good place to forget your phone for十分钟

Garbally WellSpring · 4.5 mi

Explorer Tom Garbally Well is locked in a bitter feud with the nearest tree, which keeps dropping leaves into its cup like an insult. The well wants to be a spa, but the tree is ruining its five-star reviews with constant organic debris. Bring a camera and your most suspicious face.

Ardagh FortArchaeological place · 5.0 mi

Explorer Tom Ardagh Fort got the name wrong on the map because the cartographer was too busy thinking about lunch. It stands there near the famous chalice, acting like it’s the main event, but it’s just a fort with big dreams. A handy spot to stretch your legs and your imagination.

European ash5.6 mi

Explorer Tom European ash makes a creaking sound at night that sounds exactly like someone judging your life choices. It’s just a tree, but it acts like it has a podcast. Take a breath of that air, it's older than your car.

Lawson's Cypress10 mi

Explorer Tom Lawson's Cypress in County Limerick would survive a zombie attack by simply standing still and looking unappealing. The undead would get confused about whether it was food or furniture. Make a wish, it's had centuries of practice.

Three CountiesPicnic place · 11 mi

Explorer Tom Three Counties in County Cork is a picnic spot right on the border of Limerick and Kerry, so you can eat a sandwich while technically visiting three places at once. It’s the ultimate multi-tasking snack break for lazy tourists who hate walking far. Bring curiosity, leave with a better story than mine.
