What is recorded here
Situated on a SW-facing slope of rising ground in an upland area. A large circular area (diam. 80m E-W) enclosed by a poorly preserved earth and stone bank (Wth 1.5m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.8m) with an external fosse (Wth 3m) and an outer bank visible at S where it acts as a field boundary. The inner bank is best preserved from SE through S to SW. No visible entrance feature. The irregular surface of the interior is due to natural rock outcrop.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
