What is recorded here

Indicated was a circular rath twenty-five to thirty metres wide, marking a lived boundary in level Mayo pasture before machines erased it. It appeared on maps as a distinct ring, suggesting people shaped that land long before modern convenience forgot the work. The loss is not merely architectural; it is a reminder that visibility requires active protection rather than passive assumption.
In a field of level pasture, close to the SW boundary of the townland. The E side of the field is bordered by a N-S road. This possible rath is shown on the 1838 and 1930 OS 6-inch maps as a circular ringfort-like enclosure (diam. c. 25-30m). It was levelled in the 1980’s; there is no visible trace at ground level.
