Indicated is a scrub-covered crannog near the centre of Lough Donogher in County Leitrim, dating to AD 1330-1438. The small circular island sits surrounded by upright timber piles at its southern edge, marking a medieval home suspended in open water. Fragments of disc querns recovered from the site suggest people ground grain and lived deliberately amid the lough’s shifting light.

Near the centre of the triangular Lough Donogher (dims. c. 600m NW-SE; 550m E-W). Scrub-covered circular island (diam. 17.5m; H 0.3m) surrounded by upright timber piles (diam. 0.15m; L 0.3m) at the S edge. Fragments of disc querns were recovered from the crannog (Lucas 1958, 132). A programme of radiocarbon dating undertaken by the Discovery Programme produced a date of 525 +- 20 BP (AD 1330-1438) from wood taken from the crannog (O’Conor and Fredengren 2019, 91).
