What is recorded here

Donogher crannog is a small overgrown island twenty metres from the shore of Lough Donogher in County Leitrim. Its eastern edge still holds a collapsed timber palisade beneath the water, marking the place where people stood guard or kept what they valued. The lake is wide enough to swallow a life whole, yet this island is barely larger than a kitchen. Size never stopped people from claiming a corner of the dark.

Situated c. 20m from the S shore of the triangular Lough Donogher (dims c. 600m NW-SE; 550 E-W). Overgrown oval island (dims 11m E-W; 7m N-S; H 0.3m) surrounded at the E edge by a collapsed timber palisade in the water.
