Hut site in Shronebirrane

In rough hill pasture, to the N of a tributary of the Drimminboy River, on a S-facing slope of Knocknaveacal. The remains of a roughly constructed oval hut site (4.1m N-S; 3m E-W) defined by a poorly preserved drystone wall (T c. 0.65m; H 0.45-0.95m). The stones in the lower courses of the wall protrude above the bog. Rubble obscures the interior and is also scattered along the perimeter externally and on the downslope to the S. There are numerous boulders in the surrounding area. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
