What is recorded here
In a hollow and within a network of relict field boundaries (KE102-088011-). Described in 2000 as the remains of a circular hut site (diam. 2.5m) defined by a partially grass-covered, collapsed drystone wall (T 0.6m; H 0.3m) which protruded above the surface of the shallow bog. The hut site adjoined an enclosure (KE102-088004-) at NW. On a subsequent inspection in 2007 there were no visible remains of this hut site, the land having been reclaimed and reseeded.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
