Muff holds several oval drystone hut foundations, about eight feet by five feet, still standing two to four feet high on rough rocky gorse-covered land. One larger hut stands among them, and local tradition believes some served early ecclesiastical purposes. The stones have no doors, roofs or masters left to name, but they preserve the shape of small human ambition on hostile ground.

It was not possible to trace the several oval hut foundations, about 8ft by 5ft, of drystone construction surviving in height from 2ft to 4ft. One hut of similar construction was about 2 to 3 times larger. Local tradition believed some of these to have early ecclesiastical associations (M. R. Colhoun).
