Hut site in Maughanasilly

In rough hill pasture, on a NW-facing slope in a small clearance area within a coniferous wood. The remains of a circular hut site (diam. 2.7m N-S) defined by a moss-covered stone wall (T 0.6m; H 0.4m) N-SW and by a scattering of stones SW-N. The level interior, at the centre of which is a coniferous tree, is raised (H 0.3m) at the NW and cut (D 0.4m) into the upslope at the SE to compensate for the hillslope.
