Associated with a cashel (GA056-078----). The outlines of three poorly preserved houses/huts are visible as follows: (a: GA056-078001-) immediately inside the collapsed cashel wall at SSW is a subrectangular area (N-S; L c. 5m) defined by a ruinous stone wall, the outer face of which is clearly visible; (b: GA056-078002-) on the line of the collapsed cashel wall at NNE is a roughly circular hut (D 1.35m) defined by a collapsed stone wall; (c: GA056-078003-) immediately S of the latter is a rectangular area (NW-SE; L 2.9m, Wth 1.7m), similarly defined, which also appears to be built into the cashel wall.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
