Hut site in Gortacloghane (dunkerron South By.)

In rough hill pasture, on blanket bog, on a S-facing slope overlooking the valley of the Blackwater River and within a network of field boundaries (KE082-050002-). The remains of a circular hut site (diam. 5.6m) defined by a roughly constructed, partially collapsed, drystone wall (T 0.6m; H 0.8m) which protrudes above the surface of the bog. The hut site is sheltered by a natural rise to the NW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
