What is recorded here

Glanlough West holds a rare double hut inside one stone ring, set on a slope facing the rising sun. The first chamber remains clear enough to judge, while the second fades into the hill like a forgotten thought. Whoever built it chose a narrow ridge between two valleys, perhaps watching weather arrive from the east or keeping two lives separate under one roof. The stones still distinguish inside from outside, even if human memory has thinned.

Univallate rath KE036-049----, enclosing a pair of conjoined huts, is situated on an ESE facing slope on the E flank of the mountain ridge separating Glanlough from Glanteenassig. The 2nd possible hut (KE036-049002-), to ESE, is too indistinct for measurement. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey.
