Caherbaun/An Chathair Bhán: Roughly circular cashel KE036-034---- is situated on a N facing slope near the foot of the mountain ridge overlooking Tralee Bay. The Co. Kerry Field Club (1945, 646-7; 1946, 657; 1953) recorded a number of huts or chambers contained within the thickness of the enclosing wall. The present landowner described one (KE036-034004-) in the SE section of the wall as about 3 foot (c. 0.9m) square with a flagged roof. These are not now discernible. The Field Club also noted the foundations of a large circular hut in the interior. This was about 12 feet (c. 3.6m) in diameter and there were 'indications of Man-made underground passages' within it. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne.
