Foilatrisnig holds a ruined cashel where hidden chambers once lined the thick stone wall. One circular room, no larger than a person stretched out, disappeared when the western wall fell. The remaining structure faces Tralee Bay, preserving the shape of domestic life rather than grand display.

Caherbaun/An Chathair Bhán: Roughly circular cashel KE036-034---- is situated on a N facing slope near the foot of the mountain ridge overlooking Tralee Bay. The Co. Kerry Field Club (1945, 646-7; 1946, 657; 1953) recorded a number of huts or chambers contained within the thickness of the enclosing wall. One (KE036-034003-) which had been destroyed when the W wall was removed was described to them as circular, corbelled and about 5 feet (c. 1.5m) in diameter. The above description is derived from J.
