Hut site in Creeveen (glanarought By.)

In rough hill pasture, on the SE-facing slopes of Knockastumpa. The remains of an oval hut site (2.55m E-W; 1.8m N-S) defined by the lower courses of a collapsed drystone wall (T c. 0.65m; H 0.3-0.8m) which protrude above the blanket bog. Some of the lower course stones are upright slabs set at right angles to the line of the wall. The hut site is cut (D 0.3m) into the upslope at N and is built up (H 0.2m) externally at S. There is a possible entrance at SE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
