Hut site in Coolcoulaghta

In rough fern-covered hill pasture, on an E-facing slope in an E-W hollow to the NE of the summit of Mount Corin. The remains of a circular hut site (diam. 4.7m) defined by a drystone wall (T 0.8m; H 0.1-0.4m), the collapse from which is strewn along the perimeter. The entrance location is indicated at the SE by two parallel slabs which are set 0.7m apart. Rubble and ferns obscure the interior. There is a hut site (CO130-056002-) 2m to the N and another hut site (CO130-056001-) is c. 20m to the W. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
