What is recorded here

On a steep SE-facing slope. The remains of a circular stone-built structure (int. diam. 8m) with a ruinous stone wall (Wth 1.5m; int. H 0.75m; ext. H 1.5m). The SE portion of the interior is raised somewhat to compensate for the hillslope though there is still a slope down to SE. The perimeter is densely overgrown with trees and nettles. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005). Date of upload: 18 January 2008
