Hut site in Cappagh (glanarought By.)

In rough pasture, on the E bank of a S-flowing stream and sheltered to the N by a steep slope. The remains of a D-shaped hut site (2.7m NE-SW) defined by a drystone wall (T 0.3m; H 0.4m) with a straight NE side (L 2.1m NW-SE). The NE side is defined by a scarp which is cut (D 1.2m) into the hillslope. The entrance (Wth 0.8m) is close to the N end of the wall at NW. The remains of a relict field boundary (KE093-095004-) extend to the NW and SE from the straight side of the hut site. Two adjoining hut sites (KE093-095001-, KE093-095006-) are c. 25m to the NW. There is an enclosure (KE093-095005-) c. 30m to the E. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
