Hut site in Caherblonick North

Hut site

What is recorded here

Within the N sector of the interior of a cashel (CL016-094----). Described by Westropp (1905, 210) as an oval hut site ’12 feet long [3.6m ]’, which was built against the cashel wall and deeply buried in ‘moss and cranesbills’. No visible trace of it was noted on inspection in October 1998 but a circular area visible on current aerial imagery (Google Earth 25/04/2021) may mark its site. Westropp (ibid.) also noted a second hut site (CL016-094002-) in the E sector of the interior. Compiled by: Olive Alcock and Lynda McCormack Date of upload: 23 June 2022
