What is recorded here
On top of a narrow ridge and immediately SW of the fosse of a moated site (SL039-058001-) and separated from it by a stony bank. An oval area (7m N-S; 4m E-W) enclosed by a low bank (Wth 3-3.4m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 0.7m) with a gap (Wth 3m) at N. At NE the enclosing bank appears to merge with traces of a stony bank (Wth 1.2m), possibly the remains of a field boundary, which extends to the NNE.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
