Ballyglass Middle holds two conjoined hollows shaped like a figure of eight, tucked against the north-west edge of a possible rath. The northern depression is deeper and clearer, while the southern one fades into loose field stones and uncertainty. They may have housed people beside the enclosure or merely marked pits where stone was taken for building. Either way, the earth keeps both uses entangled, refusing to separate dwelling from taking.

At a possible rath (MA103-040001-). Towards the NW edge of the probable original extent of the enclosure, there are two conjoined hollows, on a N-S line, each ringed by a low rim/bank (Wth c. 2m; H 0.3-0.65m), producing an overall ‘figure of eight’ configuration. The N hollow (MA103-040002-) is more pronounced. This, the southern-most hollow (diam. c. 3m; D c. 0.5m), is poorly defined. Both hollows are partly filled with loose field stones, and difficult to examine fully.
