What is recorded here

Ardgroom Outward holds a circular hut site twenty-one centimetres wide, marked only by grass-covered stones and a nearby cairn. The cutaway bog around it suggests people lived, died and forgotten there before written memory. The mountain still stands above the remains, waiting for someone to notice what the pasture has already swallowed.

In rough pasture, in an area of cutaway bog at the foot of Tooreennamna Mountain. The poorly preserved remains of a circular hut site (diam. 2.1m) defined by an arc of partially grass-covered stones (T 0.35m; H 0.3m) that protrude above the ground NW-S and by intermittent low stones S-NW. Some further stones are scattered in interior of the hut site. There is a cairn (CO102-004010-) c. 15m to the SE. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
