Attached double-pile three-bay two-storey house, built c.1880, formerly also in use as commercial premises. Pitched slate roof with brick chimneystacks, rendered eaves course and cast-iron rainwear goods. Rendered walls having shallow chamfered rendered plinth to front elevation, render sill band to first floor of rear elevation. Square-headed window openings with stone sills, having one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows. Round-headed door opening to rear (east) elevation, having replacement timber panelled door and single-pane fanlight overlight. Shopfront to front elevation, comprising central square-headed door opening with replacement glazed aluminium door and overlight, flanked by square-headed window openings with fixed timber-framed display windows. Openings surmounted by render architrave, frieze and cornice flanked by scroll work consoles with shamrock motifs. Set back from road with recent concrete block wall to front of site.
This example of the once commonplace combined use house and shop is particularly well preserved. The simple shopfront with its delightful shamrock motifs, fluted consoles and display windows is noteworthy. Together with the adjoining house, this building adds interest to the village streetscape.
